The six-year-old will be at the front of the Walk of Hope in Portsmouth, which has been organised by the Brain Tumour Research charity.

As previously reported in The News, the brave youngster from Portchester has an incurable brain tumour and has been undergoing intensive treatment.

Due to his condition, Harry will be doing the walk in a wheelchair alongside his mum Fiona Lear, dad Cairan and nine-year-old sister Emonie.

Cairan, 31, said: '˜The past year has been heartbreaking for my whole family.

'˜Though Harry has been so strong throughout his radiotherapy, it is agonising to think of what potentially lies ahead as radiotherapy is one of the few treatment options for Harry.

'I will be so immensely proud of him as he leads the Walk of Hope and I hope he inspires others to join him in pursuit of a cure for this merciless disease.'

Harry underwent a gruelling course of radiotherapy in March after he was diagnosed with a rare type of tumour.

Throughout his treatment, he wore a mesh mask to ensure his radiotherapy was delivered with pinpoint accuracy. To give him the courage to get through it, Harry's mask was painted to look like superhero Spiderman.

Cairan's cleaning company, HSL Outdoor Cleaning Services, will sponsor the Brain Tumour Charity's inaugural Portsmouth Walk of Hope next month.

Those who join Harry can either take on a four or seven-mile route through Old Portsmouth, onto Southsea Common and towards South Parade Pier and Eastney.

Tim Green, senior community fundraising manager at the charity, said: '˜I would like to encourage as many people as possible to join Harry at the Portsmouth Walk of Hope.

'˜The family have been through so much but have tirelessly helped us to raise money and awareness for research.'

The walk starts at The Spice Island Pub, in Old Portsmouth, on September 28.

Registration is £10 for individuals and £20 for families. To sign up visit braintumourresearch.org.
