Hospital worker signs up for Portsmouth walk by Alzheimer's Society

A HEALTHCARE support worker will be putting on her walking boots to raise money for charity.

The Alzheimer's Society is holding its Portsmouth Memory Walk in October, and one person already registered is Kimberley Liczkowski, from Gosport.

She works at Royal Hampshire County Hospital, in Winchester, with people who have dementia - so knows the impact it can have on their lives and their families.

Kimberley, 23, said: '˜Dementia can be a cruel illness and I've sat and wiped away tears and held hands of those who are scared and confused.

'˜It's become a cause very close to my heart. Individuals living with dementia are so misunderstood and the more support we can get and the more money we can raise to aim to find a cure the better.'

Portsmouth Memory Walk is being held on October 6 at Castle Field, in Southsea.
