It's time to talk about mental health in Portsmouth

MENTAL health charity Talking Change is hoping to raise awareness of its latest campaign in Portsmouth.

A group from the charity will be discussing its Time to Talk campaign, which aims to take the stigma out of mental illness, tomorrow at St Mary’s Hospital, in Milton Road, Portsmouth.

Sylvia Rooney, a mental health worker and qualified nurse, said: ‘It’s all about talking about mental health. It’s about releasing that it is okay to say “I’m not okay”.

‘It is really important because one in three people will suffer some kind of distress where they need help. It’s about stamping out any discrimination.’

The group will be at the hospital in the reception and on the third floor from 10am until 3pm.
