Month to go until end of consultation over Portsmouth Guildhall Walk health centre relocation plans

RESIDENTS have about a month left to have their say on the future of NHS services at Guildhall Walk health care centre.

The formal public consultation ends on February 19 – and health leaders are urging people to take the chance to get involved.

Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is listening to views over its proposal to move the walk-in service from its current location at Guildhall Walk, to St Mary’s health campus, where it would sit alongside the existing minor injury and illness unit. The CCG is also proposing to set up a new GP practice near to the city centre – which could be at the Somerstown Central hub or John Pounds Centre – to replace the practice at Guildhall Walk.

Patients would be automatically re-registered at the new practice, unless they wished to be registered elsewhere.

Innes Richens, CCG chief operating officer, said: ‘We have heard from lots of people – both during the formal consultation phase which is running now, and over the last couple of years – but time is now getting short for people to tell us what they think.’
