They are friends and family of Morgan Wheller, from Hayling Island, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was just two.

He has already endured more than 11,000 finger pricks, 2,500 injections and 180 cannulas in his short life.

Now on an insulin pump, these numbers will continue to increase until a cure for Type 1 is found.

On Sunday, September 28, Morgan and his family will be among 500 fundraisers stepping out along the beautiful Hayling seafront to raise money towards finding a cure.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the world’s leading charitable funder of Type 1 diabetes research.

Morgan’s parents, Faye and Mark Wheller, have organised the walk to show support for the charity which gives their family hope for the
future.

‘We want to make sure that it is a good, fun, event for the JDRF,’ said Faye, from Hayling.

‘Holding it on Hayling and raising awareness here is also a good thing.’

The walk will go from behind Funlands, along to the Plaza and back.

There will be music, face-painting, cakes, magic, a raffle, and a fancy dress competition before the walk begins at 11am.

You can register on the day from 9.30am or online at jdrf .org.uk/walks.
