Patient survey says Southern Health has improved on care experience

A HEALTH trust has seen patient experience improve, according to a patient survey.

The National Community Mental Health Patient Survey showed Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust had an improvement of four per cent.

The survey rated the trust highly for particular areas of care with patients saying they felt listened to, were given time to discuss their needs, knew how to contact someone about their care and felt involved in joint decision-making.

Overall, the trust received a rating of 71 per cent for their care experience.

Dr Mary Kloer, clinical director of adult mental health, said: ‘While we acknowledge that we still have much work to do in improving the care we provide, the survey is a big step in the right direction.’
