Award categories ranged from the Chief Nurse Award and Clinical Specialist to awards for Working as One Team, Working Together with Compassion and Working Together for Patients – reflecting the Trust’s values.
Among them was Midwife Layla Toomer, who took home the Working Together for Patients Award.
Layla said: ‘To me it is just my job that I do every day, so to be recognised for that is amazing as I love my job.
‘The most important part about my job is looking after our patients and putting them first.’
The awards were held by former patient Paul Thomas as his way of saying thank you to teams and individuals who cared for him at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
Mr Thomas was overwhelmed by the compassion QA’s nursing teams showed him during his stay.
