This worked with the oncology department to see what new equipment they would benefit from and a Dinamap machine, which monitors patients’ vital signs, was purchased.

Ruth Carter, head of nurses and lead cancer nurse, said: ‘The department has benefitted in a big way thanks to donations.

‘It will improve the patient experience.’

Cllr Jonas added: ‘People of Portsmouth raised this money and it is nice to see how the department has spent it.

‘I hope it will make a difference.’
