Reminder to use Portsmouth walk-in clinic this half-term

PEOPLE in Portsmouth and the surrounding area are being reminded to go to the walk-in centre this half-term if they have minor injuries.

Care UK, which runs St Mary’s walk-in clinic in Milton, is sending out the message to parents and families.

The centre can treat a range of illnesses and conditions from minor scalds and burns to skin infections and rashes.

Hospital director Penny Daniels said: ‘This time of year is always busy, people are out and about and accidents happen.

‘The good news is we can offer patients x-ray facilities and treatment in a relaxed environment.

‘Average waiting times are generally shorter than those at A&E and we are seeing more than 99 per cent of patients treated within the government’s targets.’

The walk-in centre is open from 7.30am to 10pm on weekdays and 8am to 10pm on weekends and bank holidays, with the last patient accepted at 10pm.
