Residents called to have a say on Portsmouth health care site

RESIDENTS in Portsmouth are being asked to give their views about the future of one of the city's health care facilities.

Today will see NHS Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) continuing its three-month consultation into the future services at Guildhall Walk.

It comes as the contracts for the Guildhall Walk Healthcare Centre and the GP practice on the same site will run out later this year.

The first consultation event is taking place today at the Cascades shopping centre, from 9am to 4.30pm.

This will be followed by two more events tomorrow at the Central Library, in Guildhall Square, from 10am to 1pm, and the Somers Central hub, in Winston Churchill Avenue, from 10am to 1pm.

The consultation process is seeking views regarding both the ‘walk-in’ service and the GP practice, which were set up in 2009, and how they can be improved.

Another six sessions are currently planned on top of these at the same three venues, plus one in the north of the city at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, on February 8.
