Slight improvement for A&E waiting times

WAITING times at Queen Alexandra Hospital’s A&E department have improved slightly for the second week running.

Figures from NHS England show that for the week ending January 18, 73.3 per cent of those who went to A&E were either seen, treated or discharged within four hours.

This is an increase on the previous week where the figure was 70.6 per cent.

But both the local and national average are still way below the government benchmark of 95 per cent.

The national average stands at 88.5 per cent.
