Supermarket presents cheque to hospital unit

A SUPERMARKET has lent a helping hand to the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity.

Tesco North Harbour donated £1,000 to the neonatal intensive care unit at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, as well as £500 worth of knitwear for premature babies.

Mandi Myers, community champion from the company’s store in Clement Attlee Way, North Harbour, popped into the hospital and presented Sue Billingham, staff nurse for the neonatal intensive care unit, with the donations.

Mandi said: ‘The Queen Alexandra neonatal care unit helps premature babies and bigger babies in their vital first few days. We are delighted to have been able to present Sue with the £1,000 cheque.’

Sue said: ‘The money and baby clothes will help the families we care for have a more positive experience.’
