Survey to have say on Fareham's NHS service

PATIENTS are being encouraged to have their say on what they want to see from NHS services.

All 10 Fareham GP practices, Fareham and Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and the voluntary sector have joined forces to produce a 20-question online survey.

The responses will be used to help shape the future planning of health services as part of the Better Local Care (BLC) initiative – a new partnership approach to the planning and delivery of care.

Dr Tom Bertram, a Titchfield GP who is the BLC lead for Fareham, said: ‘The NHS needs to make the best possible use it can of its existing precious resources to not only sustain services but also to improve them where we possibly can.

‘We know that people have previously told us that they would like to be able to access urgent GP appointments more easily and to have the choice of convenient alternatives such as telephone and online consultations. We would really like to explore that issue a bit further and that is the main aim of the survey.

People have told us that they want to see GPs and other health and social care staff working more closely together.’

The survey will remain open at least until 5pm on December 23.
