Waterlooville Health Centre team picks up gong at awards

A HEALTH centre team were left speechless after picking up a gong at The News' Best of Health Awards on Friday.

Waterlooville Health Centre’s community heart failure nurse team won Community nurse or Team of the Year at the ceremony in Portsmouth Guildhall.

Their win was greeted by big cheers from around the room and the team were speechless following their victory.

Trish Phillips, a heart failure nurse specialist, said: ‘We just really want to thank everybody who nominated us.

‘We love our work and it really means a lot to get the recognition from others.

‘There’s a huge feeling of pride that comes with this and we have really been left speechless by it.’

The dedicated team serves patients from 47 GP practices across the area.

Lisa Male, a heart failure specialist at the Turner Centre in St James Hospital was the runner-up in the category.
