The new mum said: ‘Being able to have some appointments at the Portsmouth clinic meant we didn’t have to make the 30 to 40 minute journey to Southampton every time, which was really helpful and made the experience less stressful.

‘For couples like us who have to undergo fertility treatment, having the new satellite clinic will make popping to appointments easier.’

At the new clinic patients will be able to have access to scans, consultation, consenting and follow-up appointments.

Sperm analysis, egg collection and embryo transfer or insemination appointments will continue to take place at Wessex Fertility in Southampton.

Consultant gynaecologists Dr Chris Guyer and Dr Jacqui Tuckey will run the clinic with the support of fertility nurse Lorna Eves, to provide patients with the highest standard of compassionate care.

Dr Tuckey said: ‘Fertility treatment can bring emotional, physical and practical strains. We opened the Portsmouth satellite clinic in 2018 to help reduce the stress of fitting fertility treatment into often already very busy lives.

‘At our new bespoke clinic, patients can expect the same high standard of compassionate care provided at our former premises, but now it’s completely dedicated to patients undergoing fertility treatment.’

The Portsmouth satellite service is available to self-funding patients and NHS funded patients who find the Portsmouth clinic more convenient to access than Southampton.
