Raymond Poincare along South Railway Jetty, a train reversing over the viaduct that once was situated across the mudflats to South Railway Jetty and stripped of her finery and masts, the Victoria and Albert III tied up alongside the South Railway Jetty being passed by her successor HMY Britannia.

A packed Gosport ferry In 1936 we see Dockyardmen, sailors and ordinary folk boarding and alighting two Gosport Ferries. To the rear can be seen the railway viaduct that linked the harbour Station to the South Railway Jetty. A view of the dockyard about 1908 with Gosport ferries in the foreground. The railway line opened in 1876. It was built as part of the harbour extension across the foreshore of Watering Island. The jetty here was constructed in 1860 and was especially suitable for troopships
