The occasion looks as though it was almost too much for little Ann White.

She’s sixth from the left in the front row of this 1953 coronation street party held in Ripley Grove, Copnor, Portsmouth.

Ann, now Ward, of Idsworth Road, Copnor, is dressed in a sailor suit and is holding the hand of Kathy Johnson for reassurance.

She says her brother Mervyn is the cowboy at the back and also in the picture are: Carole Bess, Tommy Norris as Wee Willie Winkie, Lesley Stillwell as the Queen, twins Billie and Christine Fairwell, Pam Norris as the nurse in the back row, Valerie Dunn and her brother and some of the Owen family.
