No doubt many of you saw the two submarines leaning against the wall of Pounds shipbreakers on the right hand side as you drove down the M275 into the city.

Well, one of them was HMS Oracle, seen here at Navy Days in 1964. Launched in 1961, she was commissioned in 1963 and decommissioned 30 years later in 1993. She was transferred to Pounds in 1997 and by 2003 she was razor blades.
