Have your say

Look at the footwear on all these children – not a pair of trainers in sight.

These were the days when sandals were worn, like it or not, by girls and boys every summer.

This happy bunch were posing for the camera during the street party in Eastfield Road, Southsea, for the Queen’s coronation in 1953.

The picture comes from Jill Gowland whose parents ‘Mac’ and Edna managed the Eastfield Hotel at the time.

Jill, of Bramshott Road, Southsea, is standing next to her late sister Janet in the second row from the front. They are third and fourth from the left.

Anyone else recognise themselves?
