This was the notorious Portsdown Park estate being demolished in early 1988.

Many of the homes in this large housing development, on the south-facing slopes of Portsdown Hill in northern Portsmouth, suffered from severe water penetration.

No solution could be found and health problems associated with the dampness were affecting the tenants, so the city council decided to knock it down.

Private homes were built on the site.
