Sent in by John Carter of Waterlooville, the image taken in 1954, shows three lads who are on duty in Malaya.

No doubt a lot of them would have been called up for their National Service, although one of two of them may have been regulars in the army. They belonged to C Company.

Were these servicemen in civvy clothing or are they brothers posing for a family photo?

I think the aircraft they are posing in front of is a Lysander, which would be used for short take-offs and landing for supplies.

The picture below is also a little bit of a mystery.

I think it’s some of the lads off duty, but I can’t be sure. Were these servicemen in civilian clothing or are they brothers posing for a family photo?

I’m afraid I haven’t got a lot of information on the photographs, so if you know or recognise any of the men in them, please get in touch and let me know.
