Clare Ash would like some help with this picture.

She took it some time in the 1970s when Commercial Road, Portsmouth, was being developed.

Clare says: ‘The facing bricks were being carefully removed from the pub’s facade. But which pub was it? I remember it being near Mile End.

‘I thought it was the Hearts of Oak, but having seen an old photo of that pub, it doesn’t seem the same. Can readers help?’
