Have your say

Lynda Ibbotson would like readers’ help to identify a man in this wedding picture taken about 1930.

The man second from the left is Lynda’s late father Cecil Frederick Dye whose family were well-known Portsmouth builders between the wars.

Lynda, of Chilgrove Road, Drayton, Portsmouth, says the woman immediately below him is her late mother Grace Marion Dye (nee White) whose parents were at one time the licensees of The Gunners’ Arms, Gunner Street, Portsea. Their names were John Frederick White and Mary Ann White (nee Croker).

Lynda says: ‘However, the man second from the right remains a mystery although he appears in other family wedding photographs.

‘I’m trying to find out whether he is Charles White, my great uncle.’
