Have your say

Can anyone explain this to me please? It is a drawing by WH Snape and was published in a 1900 edition of the Illustrated History of Portsmouth by WG Gates.

The Cockpit where Nelson died (although the exact location has been changed recently) is located in the orlop deck below the waterline. How on earth could there be a scuttle with deadlight located where it is in this drawing? Artistic licence? Perhaps.
