Irene Storey appears on the left of this picture. She’s the one standing with her hands on the back of her young daughters’ chairs.

It was taken in 1953 in Tottenham Road, Fratton, Portsmouth, as the street celebrated the Queen’s coronation.

Irene, now 94, who was in her mid-30s at the time, e-mailed these pictures of the event to me and thought they would bring back memories for others.

She says she still lives in the same road and those little girls are now in their 60.
