Have your say

We return to 1977 again today with four more photographs showing how you celebrated the Queen’s silver jubilee in June 1977.

Thousands of people marked the historic occasion with street parties across the area. And many of you are planning similar events in April to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. As reported in The News, anyone wanting to organise a street party in Portsmouth will not be charged a penny because the city council has put £10,000 aside to pay for them.

For more information about how to organise one in the city, e-mail events@portsmouthcc.gov.uk.

And if you have a picture of your silver jubilee street party 34 years ago, why not share it with Remember When readers and send it to me at the address at the foot of the page.
