Have your say

May 8 this year marks the end of the Second World War in Europe.

Do you remember what you were doing on the day peace was declared? Perhaps singing in the street or playing a piano?

Perhaps you climbed a lamppost in Guildhall Square. You women who were young girls then might have been meeting a forces’ sweetheart who had early leave and managed to arrive home for the day?

Whatever you were doing I’d like to hear about it. If you know where you were perhaps I could meet you there and take a photograph. Drop me a line in the office or e-mail.
