Catherine Combes thinks she can put a name to one of the members of this band.

Earlier this month Portsmouth pop historian Mick Cooper asked if anyone could help identify the players accompanying pianist George Coalbran.

Catherine, of Abbeyfield Drive, Fareham, believes the man on clarinet and saxophone is her dad, Noel Bone.

She says: ‘I can’t be sure as I didn’t know the name of the band he played in, but I do remember going along to band practice to watch when I was about six.’

She says her father was in the Royal Marines band until 1945 when she was born. The family lived at Cosham before moving to Farlington in the 1950s.
