This aerial photograph from 1959/60 shows the Royal Yacht Britannia entering the harbour with Portsmouth Harbour station at the top.

To the top left can be seen the former railway viaduct which crossed the mudflats from the main line to South Railway Jetty.

Tied up at the Gosport ferry pontoon are three boats of some kind.

The Isle of Wight diesel ferry can also be seen alongside the station moorings.
