Not some far flung island but Port Creek alongside Eastern Road, Portsmouth, earlier this week. I counted more than 50 plastic bottles along with other man-made filth.

The construction of the new Isle of Wight ferry terminal in progress in 1981.

The terminal is sited in the Camber in Old Portsmouth where there had been a quay for colliers serving the power station.

The vehicle ferry service had previously berthed on the other side of the Camber, near East Street.
