This is Havant Road, Drayton, Portsmouth, in the 1900s.
The picture was taken from outside a row of cottages called Wellington Terrace and it looks as though The New Inn is taking delivery of bread and coal.

The landlord of this pub during the late Victorian period had the unlikely name of Mr Beerling.
Just past the terraced housing in the centre is Drayton Lodge.
The pub is now being converted into an Indian restaurant.
