Have your say

This being the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War I am expecting a few special unpublished photographs to come my way, so please have a look through your family albums.

This is a photograph of copper pennies when there were 12 to a shilling. They were being counted in a bank in Sutton, Surrey, when an air raid started.

The bank was destroyed and amid the ashes these pennies were discovered welded together from the heat of the blast.

As can be imagined, if it could do this to coppers what chance would a human have had?
