Do you recognise yourself as a child way back in 1940 – you would be about 85 now?

This photo was taken at West Mark Camp near Petersfield in December of that year. The children were being inspected by the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Alderman Denis Daley and his lady mayoress wife Margaret Daley.

The camp was home to some of the children evacuated from Portsmouth at the beginning of the war.
