Thanks to everyone who identified this Portsmouth street as Spur Road, Cosham.

I suggested it was a VE Day parade, but Eddie Wallace thinks it was a Save for Victory parade in 1942.

The girls are in the National Fire Service and the men are from ARP Rescue and Air Raid Wardens units.
