Today we continue our look at some of the street parties held over the past 60 years marking the queen’s coronation and her Silver and Golden Jubilees.

The 1953 shot comes from Lucy Harvey, of Morley Road, Southsea, who organised this celebration in Methuen Road, Eastney.

She says she can’t remember any names, but has still got the receipt for the hire of a hall and playground. It cost 14 shillings – 70p.
