Daphne Walden confirmed that this atmospheric street party picture was indeed taken in St Paul’s Road, Southsea.

And, yes, she also thinks the occasion was the 1935 silver jubilee celebrations for George V.

Daphne says she was born in the road opposite the Mizpah Mission. She recognises Mrs Hackett, Mrs Mulvanney and Mrs Lawrence, who all lived in the road.
