We go back about 65 years today with pictures of workers at the old Drings box factory in Portsmouth.
They were sent to me by Beryl Price (née Purkis) who started work there as a 15-year-old school-leaver in 1950.
For those who might not remember it, the factory was opposite Portsmouth Airport.
In the picture above, Beryl is pictured with her husband-to-be Bill Price (he’s the one in the sailor’s uniform on the left). They were married three weeks after the photo was taken.
Beryl, of Pitreavie Road, Cosham, says: ‘He was in the navy and shortly after we married he went away to sea for two years. How times have changed.’
Please let me know if you can put names to any of the faces.
