VISIT: There will be a garden fete taking place on Hayling Island tomorrow and Sunday to benefit cats. Portsmouth Cats Protection is hosting the fete at 1 Fernhurst Close from 11am to 4pm both days. There will be bric-a-brac, books, plants, tombola and a lucky dip. A spokesperson says: ‘This has always been a very successful weekend for us so please come along and support us.’ Refreshments and biscuits will be available for a small donation and visitors will also have the chance to see some of the cats in care. PLAY: Fareham Library is hosting storytime events for pre-schoolers on Monday and Thursday next week to celebrate National Bookstart week. The wildlife-themed Rumble in the Jungle storytime will take place from 10am to 10.30am and will include book readings, animal rhymes, crafting and games with a jungle theme. SKATE: Strap on your skates for an old-fashioned roller disco at Southsea Skatepark tomorrow. The skatepark in Southsea Common will feature the DJ Durty Sound System, who will be playing dance-friendly music all evening. The disco runs from 7pm to 10pm. Entry is £5 and skate hire is £2.50.
