Portsmouth’s leading dog grooming studio SophieSticated is for sale and it’s an amazing chance for a new owner who loves dogs to be their own boss.

Of course, you need to know your way around how to professionally groom our four-legged friends so they look amazing, but it’s an opportunity that could be the best move a devoted dog-lover could ever make.

The hugely popular Highland Road studio has a stuffed order book with loyal customers who return time and again, and a top-class reputation on social media thanks to lots of five-star reviews.

The business is for sale along with all the essential equipment to get grooming straight away, plus vital extras such as the studio’s lively social media, its website, email and phone number – so the new owners won’t miss a thing.

SophieSticated is currently run by Silvana Giurgiu, who launched it three years ago and has built it into a thriving salon offering a wide range dog grooming services.

Currently pet owners can book in their pooch for a refreshing shampoo and pampering session, a spa-style massage, a coat colouring revamp or an ‘eye trim’ to clip away stray hair around their eyes.

Also popular are the salon’s essential care services, such as nail clipping – including nail polish - teeth brushing and flea and tick treatments.

The salon also sells a range of dog accessories such as cute bow ties, shampoos, specials sprays and toys, which are all part of the package.

Silvana and husband Vlad have decided to put the business on the market while they await the birth of their second child.

Said Vlad: “We felt that with a newborn on the way and a young son, that it is time to move on. The business is very well-established and fully booked for the next few weeks.

“For someone who can provide a good grooming service, there’s the chance to run their own business and develop it the way they want.”

The main area of the salon has the capacity for at least three or four grooming tables, raising the possibility of having two or more groomers.

There’s also a separate shower-room and additional room which could be adapted for a range of uses, from office space to quiet area for nervous dogs.

According to Vlad, the business is ready to change hands with various flexible options regarding the business lease available.

For the new owner, there’s the chance to decide their own working hours, opt to take on staff and expand the range of services on offer.
