ROARING engines and nostalgic sights were the order of the day as a hot rod and classic car show took place over the weekend.

Crowds gathered at Stansted Park in Rowland's Castle on Sunday for the 41st annual hot rod and classic car show '“ an event organised by The Victory Wheelers.

Car owners took their vehicles for a leisurely cruise on the Saturday afternoon, with the park being opened up to visitors yesterday.

Alongside the usual hot rods and American muscle cars, this year enough space was allocated for non-USA classic vehicles, from classic supercars such as Ferraris and Maseratis to retro vehicles.

A separate space was created for motorcycles such as choppers and Harley Davidsons '“ with all vehicles at the event predating 1990.

The Victory Wheelers group was established back in 1977 in Portsmouth, with car shows being organised across the region ever since.
