CHIPPER: Painting a present for Joe was a walk in the park

Greetings Chipsters everywhere. I have had a very creative and arty weekend.

Next week it is Joe the Jack Russell’s birthday so I decided to make him a present using my new set of paints.

I spent hours trying to think of something to paint him. I first thought I could daub a big green tennis ball because he loves chasing them, but then I thought that it wouldn’t be too interesting to look at. So in the end I decided to paint him and me together at the park. It’s our favourite place to go to play and see our other friends.

Joe’s fur has brown patches, but sadly I didn’t have a brown in my set so mum told me I should mix a few of the other colours together until I had the right shade.

I made sure I painted Joe with a huge grin as he is even cheekier than I am. When we are together are always getting up to mischief!

Once I had painted both of us I made a start on the park.

This was where my creative side took over. I painted the large grass field and even managed to fit in most of the play park. I must say though that drawing the monkey bars was not as easy as I thought it was going to be, especially with my clumsy paws holding the brush.

After I had finished I left it in the kitchen to dry while I quickly washed the paint spatters out of my fur before mum noticed.

I can’t wait to give Joe his present and to go to his birthday party.

Why don’t you guys try painting something. It could be of anything you wish, then send it in to me. I would love to see what you can come up with.

So, it has come to that time again to find out which lucky Chipsters have won my latest woof-tastic competiton.

They are:

- Alfie Essery (5156)

- Lucy Smith (167 6)

- Eloise Fleming (1694)

Well done to you three, you have each won a Disney book.

Chip Chip for now, your old friend Chipper.
