Popular city cocktail bar closed over weekend

The bar in Gunwharf Quays shut officially at 5pm yesterday and will now undergo a four-week refurbishment before reopening under a new name and concept next month.

Manager Dale Clark told The News: ‘We have been trading here for 15 years and the company has decided they are going to spend a bit of money on us and the refurbishment will include new upstairs and downstairs bar area and the outside.

‘Then we will open with roughly the same team in March with a new concept which we will be releasing details about in the next few days.’

The bar announced its closure on Facebook and scores of customers expressed their sadness.

Dale added: ‘People are devastated about us closing but I think everyone will be really excited for our new bar.’

The bar is owned by pub operator Stonegate Pub Company.
