LONDON’S finest beers are set to be showcased during a 10-day beer festival.
The Hole In The Wall in Southsea is hosting 50 guest ales brewed exclusively in the capital over the event, which started yesterday.
Weird Beird’s Mariana Trench, Hammerton’s Life On Mars red ale and the Botanic Amber from Kew Brewery were some of the pints on offer.
Landlord Richard McKerracher said: ‘It’s been a very good first day. We’ve already sampled eight of the beers!
‘Events like this are important for breweries because it means that their beers get highlighted in Portsmouth.’
Ale-lovers Jago Michell and Duncan MacLeod, both from Southsea, shared a pitcher of pale.
Jago said: ‘The festival brings people in to the pub who may not always come in, which is great.’
‘Something like this can’t be done anywhere else in the city. This is a real pub in the heart of the community’, added Duncan.
