Have your say

As we head into 2012, what wines and regions will be making the headlines this year?

Looking back at my notes from this time last year, I thought Spain was just about the most exciting wine destination in Europe - and I think that still holds true.

There are lots of exciting reds from newly-invigorated regions such as Toro, which offers great value, and Priorat, with its powerful, profound wines. At last there are some interesting whites starting to appear. In France the 2010 vintage in the Rhone was fantastic and still manages to offer great value.

Lastly, it’s Olympic year and so English sparkling wine has got to be the fizz to celebrate all those GB gold medals with!

This is a modern take, full of rich, creamy fruit with nuttiness, citrus and hints of vanilla that all blend wonderfully well together.
