Today we conclude our trawl through the colourful archive of former Portsmouth headmistress Helen Mabel Smith.
Judging by the number of e-mails I’ve received, many of you have enjoyed her pictures of the city taken in the 1950s and ’60s.
Our journey around Portsmouth through her lens today takes us from the old Unicorn Gate entrance to the Dockyard to a gymnastics display at Castle Field, Southsea, via a peaceful scene at Hilsea moat.
We end with her take on the classic shot of HMS Victory.
Miss Smith lived from 1906 to 1990 and was headteacher at Paulsgrove East Infants School.
She taught in the city for 40 years and had also been head of Albert Road Junior School, Cosham.
