A leopard never changes its spots – but they can always learn a few new tricks.

And 10-month-old Thomas had the time of his nine lives when he took a stroll around the deck of his namesake

frigate, HMS Leopard, in Portsmouth.

Thomas turned his nose up at a dish of champagne, but got quite friendly when he was introducded to 21-year-old Carole Anne Bicknell, of Bognor Regis, winner of a comeptition to find a pin-up for the ship.

He also served up a special cat-hug for Junior Seaman Paul Bardsley.
