Portsmouth planners had to think again about plans for a giant superstore at Fratton – one month after they approved the scheme.

Portsea Island Co-Op’s controversial multimillion pound proposals were in the melting pot because of an ‘administrative omission’ in the council’s planning department.

An internal investigation was started to find out why a letter objecting to the scheme was not presented to a planning committee meeting.
