An expanding Portsmouth firm is set to move into the next phase of its development with a new director of operations.

McAndrew Martin chartered surveyors has appointed Sam Rix in the newly created role to drive growth at the business across Hampshire, London and the South.

He is the latest recruit to join the 28-strong company as demand grows for its expert range of surveys, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, architectural design and property related services.

University of Portsmouth graduate Sam, 31, formerly worked for the Direct Line Group as a HR change analyst.

Sam, who lives in Portsmouth, said: ‘McAndrew Martin is one of the most prestigious and high profile multi-disciplinary property companies on the south coast.

‘The business has an excellent reputation locally, regionally and in London where it has worked on landmark MOD properties, such as Horseguards Parade.

‘It is an exciting time to join McAndrew Martin and I’m looking to playing a major part in the next phase of growth at the firm.’

McAndrew Martin, which was a multiple finalist at this year’s Portsmouth News Business Excellence Awards, has an ongoing recruitment drive.

It is also seeking experienced residential surveyors, administrative assistants and mechanical engineers as well as professionals to join its inhouse structural engineering division.

The firm expanded in 2014 – its 25th anniversary year – with takeovers of Fareham-based Brunel Design Group and Cosham-based Veness Chartered Surveyors.
