PORTSMOUTH’S international film festival is hosting a showcase at the Kings Theatre, Southsea, on July 28.

The Making Waves Film Festival, which will be returning to Portsmouth on September 21, is hosting a launch event that will showcase short films, including comedies, dramas and a documentary. There will also be a Q&A with the Making Waves artistic director Kate O’Driscoll.

Last year, more than 20,000 people attended the week-long festival, which exhibits work by international and local independent film-makers.

Ms O’Driscoll said: ‘More venues across Portsmouth have already signed up to take part in this year’s event ensuring that Making Waves Film Festival 2014 will be even bigger.’

Tickets for the showcase are free, but booking is required. See
