A trio of recent acquisitions has ensured a national estate agent remains on course to enjoy record growth in 2015.
Property specialist Leaders finalised a takeover of Simply Lets Ltd in Worcester and Bromsgrove last week, shortly after purchasing Andrews Snape & Co in Bournemouth and Cullen Homes in Manchester during August.
Matthew Light, the acquisitions director at Leaders, says: ‘We are delighted to welcome all our new customers and employees who have transferred from Simply Lets, Andrews Snape & Co and Cullen Homes.
‘These acquisitions have added new branches in key locations in which we previously had no presence, as well as allowing us to grow our portfolio in some of our existing markets such as Bournemouth and the Fallowfield area of Manchester.’
Leaders acquired Simply Lets after its previous owner, Jon Sugden, opted to move away from the lettings business to pursue other interests.
He explains: ‘After deciding to sell the company it was important to me to leave my landlords, tenants and staff in the safest possible hands. That’s why I chose to sell Simply Lets to Leaders, which has the expertise, experience and resources required to deliver a great service.’
Bryan and Marlene Snape, former owners of Andrews Snape & Co, decided to retire and were also impressed by Leaders’ ability to exceed client expectations.
and provide a secure future for employees.
Leaders has acquired the sizeable lettings and property management portfolio of Andrews Snape & Co and this will be implemented into the firm’s current Bournemouth office.
Mr Snape says: ‘Selling our business after such a long time was never going to be easy, but we knew the importance of selecting the right buyer. Having seen just how smooth and successful Leaders’ takeover of Allan & Bath in Hampshire and Dorset in May 2006 was, the company was always our first choice.
‘We are sure we have made the right choice and we look forward to seeing how the business develops under the Leaders name over the coming months and years.’
Cullen Homes, the trading name of CT Trading Ltd, was sold to Leaders after previous owners Tim Cullen and Chris Millington chose to pursue other interests. Its sales and lettings activities and portfolio have been absorbed into Leaders’ existing Fallowfield branch.
Mr Light adds: ‘All three of the businesses we have acquired benefit from an excellent reputation in their local areas and are similarly committed to achieving the very highest standards of customer care and industry expertise.
‘With the same service in place and the majority of staff opting to remain with Leaders, sellers, landlords, buyers and tenants will notice only positive changes. In particular, we expect them to be impressed by our marketing power and extensive branch network that we hope will make it easier and quicker to sell or let their homes.’
Leaders now boasts more than 100 branches across the country, employs in excess of 1,000 staff and offers a range of comprehensive sales, lettings and property management services.
